Lady Gaga stands with Dylan Mulvaney

The photos of Dylan Mulvaney and Lady Gaga posing for photos brought me trans joy.

Dylan Mulvaney and Lady Gaga looked fine in their publicity photos for Haus Labs, Lady Gaga’s makeup company.

The two celebrities were celebrating International Women’s Day. Lady Gaga also supported Dylan Mulvaney after internet trolls made derogatory comments online after seeing the two looking happy.

Lady Gaga says that she supports Dylan Mulvaney.

“It’s appalling to me that a post about National Women’s Day by Dylan Mulvaney and me would be met with such vitriol and hatred. When I see a newspaper reporting on hatred but calling it “backlash” I feel it is important to clarify that hatred is hatred, and this kind of hatred is violence. “Backlash” would imply that people who love or respect Dylan and me didn’t like something we did. This is not backlash. This is hatred.”

Right-wing grifters seeking to make money from anti-trans hysteria had boycotted Bud Light’s brewer. They had sent a beer can to Dylan with a sticker of her face attached.

The same types of misogynists had misgendered Lady Gaga in the past:

“Gaga herself was dogged early in her career by unsubstantiated rumors that she was transgender, and many of the negative comments seemed to reference that moldy old urban myth, with one user misgendering both the singer and Mulvaney.”

I am glad Lady Gaga is calling out the insanity we’ve experienced in the United States and worldwide. The anti-women forces are using anti-tran hatred to advance their agenda of subjugating women. The same people who are taking away women’s rights are the same people screaming about trans people. They want to take away women’s freedoms, such as the right to self-determination, as well as roll back economic rights gained as recently as 1974, such as women having their bank accounts.

I’ve heard right-wingers say they want to roll back American life to the 1800s when civil rights were only guaranteed for white land-owners.

I’m glad people are standing up for women’s rights. They remind us that the forces of subjugation seek to keep us fighting each other, so they can take away all of our rights.
